Damascus, Syria: At least four people were injured in a series of explosions early Monday at a Syrian army site near Al-Eis town in southern Aleppo countryside, according to an initial toll reported by Syrian state media.
The Syrian Arab News Agency (SANA) reported that Aleppo's Internal Security Command closed the Aleppo-Damascus highway and roads leading to the site as emergency teams worked to evacuate residents and secure the area.
Faisal Mohammed Ali, head of civil defense operations in Aleppo, said rescue teams had evacuated four injured people from the site, adding that continuing explosions had initially prevented ambulances and rescue teams from reaching the area.
Rescue teams were also evacuating residents from homes near the blast site and restricting access to the area, he said.
Aleppo Governor Azzam Al Gharib urged residents to remain indoors and avoid the site and surrounding areas, saying authorities were monitoring the situation and responding to any emergencies.
