Doha, Qatar: The Sheikh Abdulla Bin Zaid Al Mahmoud Islamic Cultural Center has launched two Arabic language courses for non-native speakers in Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Republic of Tatarstan in the Russian Federation, as part of its efforts to promote the Arabic language internationally.
The initiative reflects the centre’s commitment to promoting Arabic as a gateway to knowledge and a means of learning about Islamic culture.
The centre has extensive experience in this field, spanning a quarter of a century. It has also been hosting students from universities outside Qatar and organising courses abroad for the past seven years.
The two courses began simultaneously at the beginning of this month.
In Bosnia and Herzegovina, the centre is organising an Arabic language course for non-native speakers at the Faculty of Islamic Studies at the University of Sarajevo. A total of 36 students from the faculty are participating in the course, where they will study Levels 1A and 1B.
Meanwhile, approximately 40 first- and second-year master’s students have enrolled in the course in Tatarstan. They will study Levels One, Two or Three, depending on their respective proficiency levels.
It is worth noting that the centre has consistently organised courses abroad in several countries and regions, including Bosnia and Herzegovina, Mauritius, Cambodia and Tatarstan. It has also hosted students from universities in Turkiye, India and Tatarstan to help enhance their Arabic language skills.
