Doha: The Ministry of Education and Higher Education yesterday concluded ‘Back-to-School’ campaign, which kicked off on August 13 under the slogan ‘With Education, We Build Qatar’.

The ‘Back to School’ campaign for the academic year 2022-2023 was organised by the ministry in cooperation with transportation company Mowasalat (Karwa) as well as Doha Festival City, which hosted the activities of the campaign.

The campaign targeted all school children and included a variety of educational and entertaining activities as well as awareness on health and safety, general advice and instructions in schools, instructions for riding the school bus safely, and adherence to the instructions and etiquette of sitting.

At the end of the events, the ministry honoured the campaign organisers, partners and members for their active and significant contribution to the campaign’s success.

In comments, Director of Media and Government Relations at Mowasalat Khalid Hassan Kafud said that the company was keen through its participation in the campaign to involve students and raise their awareness of the importance of mass transportation in reducing carbon emissions and preserving the green environment, in addition to other educational topics.

He noted that the company will provide, with the beginning of the new school year, school buses with the highest safety standards that conform to standard specifications and the latest technologies such as cameras and sensors distributed around the bus to alert the driver when any student approaches it as well as monitoring the status of the bus through a central operations room to ensure efficient operation and rapid intervention in emergency situations, in addition to providing mobile maintenance of buses distributed in a number of locations.

General Manager of Doha Festival City Robert Hull expressed his happiness with the great success of the Back to School campaign, and expressed his aspiration for more cooperation with partners, in line with the mall’s society’s program that seeks to contribute to the development of Qatari society.

The campaign saw great turnout by the public and achieved all its objectives through various activities to prepare students to return to school in a positive atmosphere of learning and fun.
