Doha, Qatar: Qatar Probashi Bondhushava, a Bangladeshi expatriate social and voluntary organisation, has distributed cold drinks and light meals to nearly 200 migrant food delivery riders in Qatar as part of a humanitarian initiative aimed at supporting workers during the summer heat.

The programme, held in the Al Nasr area, saw young volunteers from the organisation provide bottled water, fruit juice and food to riders from various nationalities in recognition of their dedication and hard work. The initiative sought to offer a brief moment of relief to delivery workers who spend long hours on the road.

The riders expressed appreciation for the gesture, describing it as a welcome source of comfort during their demanding work schedules. The humanitarian programme was supported by VIP Modern Furniture, while Miras Delivery Company also extended special assistance to the initiative.

The programme was organised under the leadership of Bondhushava Qatar President Shakil Ahmed and attended by several members of the organisation, including Vice-President Saiful Islam, Joint General Secretary Satya Roy, Organising Secretary Omar Faruk Mridha, Assistant Organising Secretary Mohammad Jihad, Finance Secretary Motiur Rahman, Publicity Secretary Md Nahid Islam, Library and Reading Circle Secretary Ziaul Haque, Book Fair Secretary Sharif Hossain, Executive Member Mohammad Johnny, as well as advisers Tamim Raihan and Burhan Uddin.

Concluding the event, President Shakil Ahmed said the initiative represented more than the distribution of food and water, describing it as a symbol of respect, compassion and humanitarian responsibility towards working people. He noted that such efforts help strengthen the values of humanity and social responsibility within the community and encouraged wider participation in similar initiatives in the future.

Suman Babu, proprietor of VIP Modern Furniture, said he was pleased to support Bondhushava Qatar in organising what he described as a meaningful social initiative dedicated to humanitarian service and community welfare.

Saiful Islam Sunny, Cultural Secretary of Bondhushava Qatar, expressed gratitude to the supporting organisations for making the initiative possible.

“We are grateful to our sponsors. It is because they came forward that we were able to organise such a meaningful humanitarian initiative,” he said.
