Doha, Qatar: Attorney-General H E Dr Issa bin Saad Al Juffali Al Nuaimi has ordered pretrial detention of some Tweeters, for insulting, on the Twitter platform, a female citizen after achieving a sporting achievement.
Public Prosecution said, in a statement, that with reference to what was monitored on the social media platform Twitter, where some of the users, insulted a female citizen after making an achievement for Qatar in one of the sports fields, pointing that such behaviour would harm the public interest and constitute a criminal offense.
The statement added, that the users of those accounts were arrested and investigated, as the Attorney-General ordered their pretrial detention.
