Temperature is soaring; here are a few tips to deal with sunstrokes

Doha: The temperature is rising all over Qatar and stepping out during late morning is really difficult if you have not taken enough precautions.

Sunstroke happens when the body becomes unable to cool it’s self through sweating. Chances of a sunstroke increase when humidity rises in hot weather conditions.

As hot weather conditions continue over the region in general, Qatar Meteorology Department has published some tips on how to avoid/deal with sun strokes.

Some symptoms 

Symptoms include sudden rise in body temperature, tiredness, weakness and feeling dizzy. It could also cause heavy sweating, difficulty in breathing, fast pulse and losing consciousness

Some tips to avoid a sunstroke

Try to avoid direct sunlight by using an umbrella or a cap. Make sure you consume plenty of fluids, especially water and fruit juices. Wear light coloured clothing to reflect sunlight and avoid heavy clothes.

What to do when someone is hit by sunstroke? 
Take the person to a cool place or to the shade and remove unnecessary clothes. Spray cold water on the body and try to give some water or juices. Ask for medical assistance immediately.
