Doha: The Ministry of Culture (MoC) has announced its participation in the 57th edition of the Cairo International Book Fair (CIBF) 2026, scheduled to take place from January 21 (today) to February 3 at Egypt International Exhibition Center. The fair is considered one of the most prestigious and largest cultural events at both the Arab and international levels.
The Ministry’s participation comes as part of the State of Qatar’s commitment to boosting its cultural presence in international forums, supporting the publishing industry, showcasing Qatari intellectual and knowledge production, and expanding cultural exchange with Arab and international cultural institutions.
Director of the Department of Libraries at the Ministry of Culture, and Director of the Doha International Book Fair, Jasim Ahmed Al Bouainin said Qatar’s participation in CIBF underscores its belief in the role of culture and knowledge in building societies and promoting civilizational dialogue. It also reflects the Ministry of Culture’s dedication to supporting Qatari publishers and enabling them to actively participate in major Arab cultural events, thereby promoting Qatari cultural production and enriching the Arab intellectual scene, he added.
