Doha, Qatar: The Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs, represented by the Department of Da’wah and Religious Guidance and its Da’wah and Islamic Sciences Institute, will conclude the seventh edition of its “Tafaqqah” educational program today.

Held at Dar Al Salam Mosque in Mesaimeer, the two-week course began on August 9 as part of a series of educational programs organized by the institute to promote Islamic knowledge and deepen the community’s understanding of Islamic jurisprudence.

The course was delivered by Sheikh Saeed Mustafa, a preacher at the Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs. It focused on the jurisprudence of financial transactions from Dalil Al-Talib (The Student’s Guide), covering chapters from sales through emancipation.

Sessions were held daily from Sunday to Thursday after Maghrib prayers and continued beyond Isha prayers, attracting students of Islamic knowledge, mosque worshippers and others interested in Islamic jurisprudence.

The course provided a systematic study of jurisprudential principles governing financial transactions and civil rights under Islamic law. Topics included sales and their rulings, conditions for valid transactions, permissible and prohibited forms of trade, options in sales, and regulations governing contracts and financial dealings.

Sheikh Saeed Mustafa also addressed several areas relating to financial security and documentation, including pledges, guarantees, surety, debt transfers and settlements, as well as restrictions on financial transactions and the rules governing the disposal of property. The discussions highlighted Islamic principles designed to protect rights and regulate dealings among members of society.

The program covered a wide range of topics from Dalil Al-Talib, including forward sales, loans, agency, partnerships, sharecropping, agricultural contracts, leasing, competitions, loans of property for use, unlawful appropriation, pre-emption and deposits.

Other subjects included reviving uncultivated land, commissions and rewards, found property, abandoned children, endowments and gifts.
