Doha, Qatar: The Social Development Center (NAMA) — one of the centers affiliated with Qatar Foundation for Social Work of the Ministry of Social Development and Family — has launched professional and foundational workshops within the framework of the programme of upgrading and qualifying the emerging micro-enterprise for 2023.
The programme aims to upgrade skills of entrepreneurs in various production sectors through administrative and technical training, as well as awareness, cultural and counselling forums which would accelerate projects growth and ensure their continuity in the local market.
The programme has initiated its activities for 2023 by holding a foundational workshop in jewellery design and crafting followed by a workshop on perfume industry.
Director of the Family Empowerment Department at the Ministry of Social Development and Family, Fatima Al Nuaimi affirmed that the participation of perfume entrepreneurs in these workshops comes to familiarise them with novel skills on the methods of correctly crafting and combing perfumes with core learned rules.
She pointed out that during the upcoming period programs and workshops for national and productive entrepreneurs would be carried out in collaboration with NAMA to empower them and upgrade supply and marketing methods, support and integrate them into the local market to further participate in exhibitions and marketing ports at home and abroad.
For his part, NAMA’s Acting Executive Director, Ghanem Salah Ghanem Al Ali said the workshops come in consistent with the objectives NAMA is striving to achieve within the annual operational plan 2023 and contribute to achieving Qatar National Vision 2030, pointing out that NAMA works to translate its objectives through spurring the potential of young people, in addition to societally empower and engage them, upgrade and promote services of supporting small and micro-enterprise in collaboration with a host of professional entities and institutions.
He added that NAMA is working in lockstep with the family empowerment department at the Ministry of Social Development and Family to offer activities and events that upgrade the skills of entrepreneurs, in pursuit of empowering them and supporting Qatar’s efforts aimed at promoting entrepreneurship environment.
