Doha, Qatar: Bangladesh Forum Qatar (BFQ), in collaboration with the Primary Health Care Corporation (PHCC), organised a Health Awareness Seminar and Free Medical Camp in Doha to promote preventive healthcare and community well-being.
The event was attended by HE Mohammad Hazrat Ali Khan, Ambassador of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh to the State of Qatar, representatives from PHCC, Qatar Financial Centre (QFC) and healthcare professionals.

In his speech, the Bangladesh Ambassador praised the initiative describing it as an example of how community service, preventive healthcare and social solidarity can come together to create a positive and lasting impact.

“Health is not only about treatment; it is about prevention,” he said, stressing the importance of awareness about nutrition, healthy lifestyles, hydration and regular medical check-ups.
Speaking at the event, attended by over 400 community members, BFQ President Dr. Azad Ashraf said the initiative was aimed at raising health awareness and encouraging members to prioritise regular health check-ups and healthier lifestyles.

He noted that many workers and residents contributing to Qatar’s development often lack the time or awareness to seek routine medical screenings, making such initiatives important in promoting preventive healthcare and early detection of health conditions.
Ashraf said the seminar and medical camp reflected a shared commitment to community well-being and aligned with the goals of Qatar National Vision 2030.
Dr. Fathiya Mohamed Almeer, representative from PHCC, highlighted the importance of preventive healthcare, noting that health is the foundation upon which individuals, families and communities thrive.

She added that Qatar remains committed to providing high-quality healthcare services to all residents, regardless of nationality or background, in line with the objectives of Qatar National Vision 2030.
Dr. Almeer stressed that many common health conditions, including diabetes, hypertension, heart disease and high cholesterol, can often be prevented or effectively managed through healthy lifestyle choices and regular medical screenings.
“The labour community plays a vital role in Qatar’s development and success. Their health and well-being deserve our utmost attention and support,” Dr. Almeer stated, encouraging participants to make use of available healthcare services and undergo routine health assessments.
