Al Shahaniya Municipality conducted inspection raids against unauthorised markets and caught 22 violations. The campaign was conducted in collaboration with Al Shahaniya police and the Criminal Investigation Department of the Ministry of Interior.
“The campaign started on Friday and will continue to catch all violators, and apply the law related to general cleaning and encroachments,” said Mohamed Saif Tashal Al Hajri, Al Shahaniya Municipality’s Director.
Last week, the Municipality detected 23 violations during inspection raids against unauthorised markets. The violations ranged from selling food unfit for human consumption to throwing waste at non-designated places, and encroachments.
Several people were asking the Municipality to monitor these unauthorised markets as they are transporting foodstuff in unhealthy conditions.
