Training to rehabilitate ministry officials

Doha: To rehabilitate leaders of the second and third line of officials, the Human Resources Department of the Ministry of Municipality and Urban Planning will implement a Qualification Programme for officials of its departments and municipalities to enable them to assume administrative and supervisory positions.
Jabor Abdullah Al Attiyah, Director of the department, said the project under guidance of Minister of Municipality & Urban Planning H E Sheikh Abdul Rahman bin Khalifa Al Thani focuses on the need for training officials, including assistant directors and heads of sections, to enable them to assume leadership responsibilities in line with the Human Development pillar of Qatar National Vision 2030. 
He said the project includes training to provide supervisory managerial skills, preparation of action plans, organisation and development of work plans, assessment of staff performance, skills to interact with and motivate subordinate staff, time management, organisation of meetings and familiarisation with the Human Resources Law.
The programme targets 122 officials who will be divided into six groups to undergo six mandatory programmes for two weeks and two optional programmes for trainees based on their professions.
Training for the first group will be held from May 31 to June 11 and for the second group from June 7 to June 18. Programmes for other groups will be held after Ramadan.
Another programme will be implemented to rehabilitate third line of officials to qualify them to take over as heads of sections and prepare them to assume greater responsibilities.
