LAHORE/KARACHI: Lawmakers for the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) in Wednesday submitted a resolution against Pakistani IT firm Axact, which is being investigated by the FIA for making millions by selling fake academic degrees online.

"The house expresses concern over surfacing of the scandal related to the company Axact, the illegal activities of which have caused shame and embarrassment in the world for Pakistan," reads the resolution submitted by opposition leader and PTI lawmaker Mehmoodur Rasheed.

"It is also a matter of concern that the company has been carrying out illegal activities since the last ten years but our agencies did not act against them. The matter was brought to light by the US media," it adds.

The resolution demands the government to take legal action against the owners of Axact.
