DOHA: Hakkasan at St. Regis Doha and Spice Market at W Doha Hotel were top winners at FACT Dining Awards 2015 on Monday at Doha Marriott Hotel.
Hakkasan was Best Restaurant overall winner and Best Chinese Restaurant. Spice Market won Favourite Restaurant in the publicly voted popular choice categories and Best South East Asian Restaurant.
Over 250 guests attended the night hosted for the first time in Doha by FACT Qatar magazine. It featured entertainment, food and beverage, as the winners from the 28 categories were announced.
The awards recognise excellence in the food and beverage industry, with winners awarded based on public vote and critics’ opinion.
Each category was given two awards, which were divided into a popular choice decided through online voting, and a critics’ choice decided by an independent panel of Qatar bloggers and industry experts.
Among the winners were Crossroads Kitchen at Marriott Marquis City Centre for Best International Restaurant, Emirgan Sutis by Al Siddiqi Hospitality for Best Newcomer, and Belgian Café at InterContinental Doha for Best Bar. In the popular choice categories, Porcini at the Ritz-Carlton was voted Favourite Italian Restaurant, L’wzaar at Katara Cultural Village as Favourite Seafood Restaurant and Eatopia at the Gate Mall as Favourite Newcomer, among others.
