The Ministry of Public Health has inoculated some 1,500 students in 15 schools here as part of its annual vaccination campaign against Tetanus, Diphtheria and Pertussis (TdaP).
The month long campaign, which began here on February 19, focuses on tenth grade students of various schools.
The campaign against tetanus, diphtheria and pertussis diseases is organised by the MoPH vaccination section, which represent the Health protection and Communicable Diseases control Department. The campaign running for the seventh year, is held in collaboration with the Primary Health Care Corporation and the Ministry of Education and Higher Education.
The campaign targets these three diseases as they may cause death or disability in young adults.
The Ministry has urged all parents to take advantage of the opportunity for vaccination, as it has a major impact on their health protection and prevention of these serious communicable diseases.
The Ministry also stressed that the dose given to the students is part of the periodic vaccinations for teenagers and within the basic vaccines in the national immunisation schedule in Qatar.
