Doha: The Katara Cultural Village Foundation concluded its events accompanying the Arab Cup, which were part of a comprehensive cultural programme that ran alongside the sporting event and reflected Katara’s vision of being a meeting place for cultures and a leading tourist destination in Qatar.
The events, which were spread across Katara’s various facilities, witnessed a large public turnout and remarkable interaction from visitors of all ages and nationalities, a clear indication of the programme’s success in reaching diverse segments of the population and providing balanced cultural and entertainment content that caters to the interests of a varied audience.
The events ranged from artistic and heritage performances and cultural exhibitions to interactive activities, alongside dedicated fan zones for broadcasting the tournament matches. Meanwhile, the 15th Katara Traditional Dhow Festival concluded after several days filled with heritage activities and maritime displays. These events highlighted the maritime heritage of Qatar and the wider Gulf region, showcasing its deep-rooted cultural and historical values. The festival witnessed broad participation from 11 countries: Qatar, Oman, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, the United Arab Emirates, Palestine, Tanzania, Iran, and Sudan. The participation reflected the festival’s growing prominence as one of the most important specialised heritage events in the region, and its role in preserving and promoting maritime heritage, presenting it to new generations in interactive and contemporary ways.
In a related context, the Arabic Language Festival continues at Katara until December 20th, as part of a cultural programme aimed at promoting the Arabic language and highlighting its beauty and cultural significance through a range of activities, workshops, and interactive events targeting various age groups.
