Doha, Qatar: Mobile phone users across Qatar received an emergency alert on Wednesday as part of the Ministry of Interior’s nationwide “Watan 2025” exercise.
The message, issued by the National Command Center (NCC), clarified that the alert was part of the scheduled drill and did not require any action from the public.
The bilingual notification stated: “This alert is for the purpose of the Watan Exercise 2025 and requires no action from the public.”

The alert coincided with the launch of the fifth edition of the Watan exercise, held under the patronage and in the presence of the Minister of Interior and Commander of the Internal Security Force “Lekhwiya,” H E Sheikh Khalifa bin Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani.
Launched on Tuesday, the exercise brings together a wide range of military, security, and civil entities. It aims to enhance field readiness, strengthen coordination among different sectors, and reinforce the national response framework to manage crises and emergencies with high efficiency.
According to the Ministry of Interior, Watan 2025 showcases the integration and preparedness of Qatar’s military, security, and civil systems, ensuring rapid and professional response capabilities in the face of potential challenges.
