Doha, Qatar: Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of State for Defense Affairs HE Sheikh Saoud bin Abdulrahman bin Hassan Al-Thani chaired the regular meeting held by the Cabinet on Wednesday morning at its headquarters in the Amiri Diwan.

After the meeting, Minister of Justice and Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs HE Ibrahim bin Ali Al Mohannadi stated the following:

At the outset of the meeting, the Cabinet welcomed the Doha Framework Agreement for Peace between the Government of the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) and the Congo River Alliance (March 23 Movement), which was signed on Nov. 15 in Doha as part of the efforts of the State of Qatar and its partners to consolidate peace and stability in the eastern Democratic Republic of the Congo, and in line with Qatar's steadfast approach of adopting preventive diplomacy and constructive dialogue as a strategic option for resolving conflicts.

The Cabinet expressed its hope that both parties will implement the provisions of their framework agreement and the subsequent steps leading to a comprehensive peace agreement.

Afterwards, the Cabinet considered the topics on its agenda and approved the draft decision of the Minister of Commerce and Industry regarding the classification of companies. This draft decision, prepared by the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, stems from the Ministry's keenness to keep the legislation it implements aligned with the rapid developments in the business environment and corporate governance, and in line with its strategy aimed at enhancing economic growth, encouraging companies to continuously develop, and increasing their competitiveness. The draft decision aims to help regulate the business sector in the country, achieve transparency, and strengthen the efficiency of national companies registered with the relevant authorities through classifying them according to size (micro, small, medium, large) based on clear and well-defined criteria.

The Cabinet approved a draft MoU on cooperation in the field of climate change adaptation and green growth between the Ministry of Environment and Climate Change in the State of Qatar and the Global Green Growth Institute, a draft MoU on cooperation in the field of endowments and Islamic affairs between the Ministry of Endowments and Islamic Affairs in the State of Qatar and the Ministry of Islamic Affairs and Endowments in the Republic of Djibouti, and a draft MoU between the Ministry of Labour in the State of Qatar and the Ministry of Higher Education, Labour and Skills Development in the Republic of Maldives regarding cooperation in the field of labour.

It also approved a draft MoU on cooperation in the health sector between the Government of the State of Qatar and the Government of the Republic of The Gambia, a draft MoU on cooperation in the field of public prosecution between the Public Prosecution in the State of Qatar and the General Prosecutor's Office of the Republic of Kazakhstan, and a draft MoU on cooperation in the field of audit work between the State Audit Bureau in the State of Qatar and the UAE Accountability Authority in the United Arab Emirates.
