DOHA: The eighth Heya Arabian Fashion Exhibition concluded on a high note yesterday at Doha Exhibition and Convention Centre.
Organised by Qatar Tourism Authority (QTA) in partnership with Design Creationz, the event was Qatar’s largest and leading fashion destination which saw participation of nearly 300 fashion designers and industry experts from Qatar, the GCC, Europe, and Southeast Asia.
Some 260 local and international brands showcased modern and high-quality Arabian and Islamic designs at the week-long event which featured 23 programmes. Daily fashion shows, fashion forums, lecture series, hands-on workshops, and social programmes made the expo engaging.
“The exhibition proved to be a great success on all accounts. The Qatari market for high-end fashion proves to be a lucrative one.
“With increasing levels of consumer spending, high demand for luxury goods, and young entrepreneurs utilising online platforms and social media to promote their designs, Qatar is quickly emerging as a leading fashion destination. The exhibition confirms that” said Jawaher Al Kuwari, Head, Advisory Committee, Design Creationz.
Heya has proved Qatar as an increasingly attractive destination for designers and exhibitors, particularly those specialising in Arabian, modest and Islamic fashion.
This edition provided a platform for young fashion entrepreneurs, industry professionals, and prominent designers, enabling networking, increased sales, brand visibility and recognition across the region.
