The General Manager of the Cultural Village Foundation- Katara, Dr Khalid bin Ibrahim Al Sulaiti, yesterday met Turkish Ambassador, Fikret Ozer, and his accompanying delegation, in the presence of the Director of ‘Yunus Emre’ -the Turkish Cultural Centre in Doha, Mohamed Ikaj.
The meeting was aimed at enhancing cultural ties between Katara and the Turkish Embassy in Doha. A proposal was discussed on the cooperation between the two entities in the maritime heritage field by presenting the Turkish marine culture with its various perspectives, in alliance with Katara traditional festivals.
Dr Al Sulaiti praised the role of the Turkish embassy in highlighting the Turkish folklore and culture through a wide array of events, festivals, and cultural weeks. He underlined that culture builds real communication bridges between people from all walks of life.
For his part, the Turkish Ambassador expressed his happiness towards this fruitful cooperation with the Cultural Village. Stressing on the importance of strengthening the cultural ties between the two countries by opening new horizons of cooperation through participation in upcoming festivals hosted by the Cultural Village, which ideally reflects the strong and friendly Qatari-Turkish relations that have been consolidated over the past years.
