The Public Relations Department at the Ministry of Municipality and Environment has released the 45th edition of the Ministry’s magazine (Municipality and Environment), which contains the ministry’s news, reports and studies made by different sectors at the ministry.
In its opening under the title ‘supporting national products’ the magazine refers the Ministry’s efforts to develop agricultural sector to contribute to increase local products and to achieve self-sufficiency. The ministry’s plan aims to decrease imports and depend on local products to face any emergency conditions like the ongoing unjust siege imposed by the neighbouring countries since the beginning of June.
Many efforts have been mentioned in the magazine, like “2nd Local Dates Festival”, the “Fifth Qatar International Agricultural Exhibition” (Agriteq), The Winter Vegetable Markets etc
The magazine also mentioned the Minister of Municipality and Environment H E Mohammed bin Abdullah Al Rumaihi’s speech at the 40th Session of the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) in which he stated that the wise policy pursued by Qatar’s political leadership has thwarted the plans of the siege countries.
