Madrid: Barcelona have announced the signing of Spain captain Rodrigo Hernandez, known as "Rodri", from English club Manchester City on a four-season deal.
In a statement Tuesday, the club said the midfielder signed a contract with Barcelona through July 2030.
The statement added that the 30-year-old Rodri will be one of the club's football team players in the coming period after joining Barcelona, noting that he represents a genuine addition to the Spanish league champions.
Rodri led Spain to the 2024 UEFA European Championship and 2026 World Cup titles and previously won the 2024 Ballon d'Or after leading Manchester City to the Champions League, UEFA Super Cup and FIFA Club World Cup titles.
The player won 13 titles with the English club during his career in England after joining the club in 2019 from Spanish club Villarreal.
The player is expected to make his La Liga debut next week when Barcelona face Elche in the second round of the competition.
