Total E&P Qatar has donated 50 refurbished personal computers and laptops to Qatar Charity on behalf of Qatar Petroleum (QP).
The computers were handed over at a special ceremony held at Total’s office and attended by Yousef Al Nesf, Total E&P Qatar’s Public Relations Manager, Abdallah Al Dosari, Qatar Charity’s Director of In-Kind Donations, and other senior officials.
Total E&P Qatar recently joined hands with QP in donating 40 personal computers and 10 laptops to Qatar Charity. This initiative will give 50 families the opportunity to be connected to a worldwide network, as computers are today’s easiest way of acquiring information and knowledge and communicating with other people.
In his comments on the occasion, Al Nesf said: “With support from QP, we are very glad to donate to Qatar Charity these fifty computers, which will impact the lives of many families in Qatar. Used IT equipment is often discarded which is not only bad for the environment but also a waste of valuable resources. Thankfully, with the support of Qatar Charity, we have been able to refurbish a large quantity of desktop computers and laptops, which will now be put into good use by the needy in our community.”
“Qatar Petroleum is proud to be part of this initiative, and we are confident that the donated computers would make a lot of difference in effectively serving the information and communications needs of the recipient families. We look forward to working in partnership with Total in similar worthwhile endeavors, and we would also like to commend Qatar Charity for their wide range of humanitarian activities,” said Abdulrahman Abdulla Al Obaidly, Manager for Public Relations and Communications of QP.The Peninsula
