Beirut: Lebanon's health ministry says at least 47 people have been killed and 97 injured in Israeli air strikes since midnight, marking a significant escalation in violence across the country.

The ministry's emergency operations center said the cumulative death toll from Israeli military actions since March 2 has now reached 3,980, with 12,001 people injured.

Strikes reportedly hit multiple areas from southern Lebanon to the Bekaa region in the north-east, in what officials described as a broad wave of aerial attacks.
