QSL to benefit from delegation’s visit to AFC headquarters

Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia: Qatar Stars League (QSL) recently sent a delegation to the Asian Football Confederation’s (AFC) headquarters in Malaysia in the aim of enhancing Qatar’s popular football league.

The party travelled to Kuala Lumpur for the trip aimed at fostering relationships and sharing knowledge with the governing body of Asian body. The QSL delegation were greeted by Alex Soosay, Secretary General of the AFC.

Headed by Abdulrahman Al Dosari, Chief of Commercial for QSL, the delegation party used the trip to study the different departments and programmes operated by AFC, in order to continue the progression of the QSL.

As well as learning from AFC, the trip also provided an opportunity to inform the Asian governing body of the greatest achievements of QSL to date. 

The AFC also used the opportunity to show a film about the greatest achievements the organisation has enjoyed since their inception in 1954. 

The QSL’s delegation included Ahmed Al Adsani from the football and competitions department, Miguel Heitor, Acting Head of Football Operations, Yousef Al Hammadi, Arabic Media Supervisor and Fay-Louise Smith, International Media Supervisor.

After the proceedings were ended, Al Dosari was thankful to AFC for their informative visit. 

He said: “We must thank the AFC for their warm welcome in Malaysia. We are extremely grateful for the reception our delegation received during the trip. It’s important to open the doors of cooperation to allow football in Qatar to keep developing.”

He added: “During the visit we discussed how to take advantage of the expertise and programs offered by the AFC. They do so much relating to social responsibility and community-based programmes. We have always been pro-active on these matters but it is important to find out about the policies in the Asian continent.”
