Doha: Qatar Youth Hostels held a special event on Wednesday to mark the 40th founding anniversary in the State of Qatar as it was established in 1983. The Youth Hostels became member of the the Arab Union of Youth Hostels Associations in 1983 and joined the International Youth Hostel Federation in 1986.
In a statement, the Youth Hostels stated that the occasion was an opportunity to celebrate the efforts of all the leaders and workers who served the Qatar Youth Hostels and contributed to embracing and spreading the youth hostel movement.
Since its establishment, it has contributed to empowering Qatari youth and working to provide the appropriate environment for youth tourism in the State of Qatar, appreciating the efforts and support of the Ministry of Sports and Youth represented by the Youth Affairs Department.
During the celebration, the veterans leaders and employees were honoured in recognition of their efforts and what they have provided over the past years.
In conjunction with the celebration, the Qatar Youth Hostels concluded the first edition of the Tourism Ideas Incubator programme that was launched last March to present projects that support youth tourism to which the Youth Hostels contributes facilitating their implementation.
