President Aquino is richer by P1.8 million based on his 2014 Statement of Assets, Liabilities and Net Worth (SALN) due to a new land inheritance and higher cash assets.
The bachelor leader’s net worth reached P68. 311 million in 2014, compared to P66.494 million in 2013.
In his SALN submitted to the Office of the Ombudsman last April 23, the President declared six real estate properties amounting to P32.6 million and personal properties worth P35.6 million. He did not have any liability in his 2014 SALN.
“The increase is attributable to the President’s salary, interest income and a 1/5 share from property inherited from the Sumulong side of his family. The title of the inherited property had to be reconstituted via court proceeding, which ended in 2014. Only then could it pass to the heirs,” Deputy Presidential spokeswoman Abigail Valte said.
Valte was referring to the President’s new real estate property, a residential lot in Antipolo worth P507,393 inherited last year.
Aquino’s cash on hand and in banks also increased to P30,088,988 in 2014 from P28.78 million in 2013.
His other real estate properties are a residential lot in Tarlac worth P718,200 (purchased), a residential house and lot in Quezon City worth P24,310,760 (inherited), commercial lots in San Juan worth P7,016,906 (inherited), an agriculture lot in Tarlac worth P113,750 (purchased), and an agriculture lot in Tarlac worth P2,818 (inherited).
Aquino’s cash on hand and in banks also increased to P30,088,988 in 2014, compared to P28.78 million in 2013.
Among his declared personal properties in 2014 are motor vehicles worth P3 million, receivables P552,829 and other assets worth P2 million.
In 2013, the President’s SALN reached P66.49 million, up from his 2012 net worth of P65.12 million due to interest income from money investments.
Aquino’s wealth also grew P65.1 million in 2011, compared to P54.99 million in 2010.
