Doha: Within the framework of its ongoing seeking towards holding more international conventions and allowing the national carrier to access more international destinations, Qatar, represented by the Civil Aviation Authority, signed a Memorandum of Understanding in the field of air transport with Italy.
The agreement was signed on behalf of Qatar by Abdullah bin Nasser Turki Al Subaey, Chairman of the Civil Aviation Authority, and on behalf Italy by Alessio Quaranta, Director General of the Civil Aviation Authority in Italy. The signing of MoU came after the bilateral discussions held in Doha during which the parties agreed to raise the number of flights to 77 flights weekly and to increase the number of air cargo flights to 16 flights for each of the national carriers of both countries.
And during the meeting it was also decided that the national carrier of Qatar, Qatar Airways, can now fly to six major Italian cities.
