Doha, Qatar: The Amir HH Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani met with HE Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, President of the Arab Republic of Egypt, at the Amiri Terminal of Hamad International Airport. They discussed the latest developments in the region in light of the ongoing Iranian aggression against Qatar and several other countries in the region.
His Excellency the President reiterated the Arab Republic of Egypt's full solidarity with the State of Qatar, affirming its support for the measures Qatar is taking to protect its sovereignty, security, and the safety of its citizens.
For his part, His Highness the Amir expressed his deep gratitude for Egypt's position and fraternal solidarity, praising the strong ties between the two countries.
Both sides affirmed their rejection of any military actions that would escalate the conflict and stressed the importance of intensifying regional and international efforts to de-escalate tensions and working through diplomatic channels to maintain security and stability in the region.
During the meeting, His Highness the Amir and His Excellency the Egyptian President exchanged greetings and congratulations on the occasion of the approaching Eid al-Fitr, praying to God Almighty that it returns to both countries and their brotherly peoples with blessings and prosperity.
The meeting was attended by Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs HE Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani, Chief of the Amiri Diwan HE Abdullah bin Mohammed Al Khulaifi, and a number of other senior officials.
From the Egyptian side, it was attended by Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation, and Egyptians Abroad HE Dr. Badr Abdelatty, Chief of Staff of the President HE Major General Ahmed Mohamed Ali, and several members of the delegation accompanying HE the President.
