Istanbul: European Universities Arabic Debating Championship (EUADC 2025), organised by QatarDebate Center in collaboration with Fatih Sultan Mehmet Vakif University (FSMVU), its strategic partner, concluded in Istanbul with widespread participation from university teams across Europe, both Arabic-speaking and non-Arabic-speaking.
The closing ceremony and final debate took place at Emin Sarac Cultural Center, attended by Deputy Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Ibn Haldun University, H E Necmeddin Bilal Erdogan, alongside several Turkish officials, representatives from QatarDebate, and a distinguished group of academics and debate experts from around the world. The championship results saw Fatih Sultan Mehmet Vakif University (Turkyie) crowned champions of the 2nd European Universities Arabic Debate Championship - Open Category after defeating the University of Liverpool (UK) in the final round. The two teams debated the motion: “The abolition of NATO after the fall of Soviet Union.” In the Arabic as a Second Language Category, the title was claimed by the Higher School of Economics (Russia).
Executive Director of QatarDebate, Dr. Hayat Abdullah Marafi, expressed her pride in the championships success. She also announced the signing of an MoU with Ibn Haldun University to establish multidisciplinary graduate programs.
