Doha: The final of the Double Trap of the Qatar Open Shotgun Championship will be held today with shooters from Qatar, Russia, Italy, Kuwait, Australia, Britain and India vying for top honours at the Losail Shooting Range.
Sixteen Olympic medallists and several World Champions are among the 250 shooters from 38 countries are competing for the podium finishes at the Qatar event organized by Qatar Shooting and Archery Association.
The championship is held in the Men’s, Men’s Juniors, Women and Women’s Junior section.
The Trap finals took place on Saturday while the last event will be Skeet.
Local hero and Olympic bronze medalist Nasser Saleh Al Attiyah will see action in Skeet. Many other promising Qatari players, who have been undergoing training on a regular basis under the coaches of QSAA will also be seeking to hit the bulls eye at the championship.
The tournament serves as an ideal preparation for some of the top ranked players for the new season.
