NAMA Centre, one of Qatar Foundation for Social Work’s Centres, recently participated in the Qatar Total Open women's tennis 2017, exhibiting four productive projects carried out by young Qatari men and women. The projects, as part of NAMA’s incubation services, were supported by the Qatar Tennis Federation.

The Federation presented a number of shops to host the projects at the village put up on the sidelines of the tournament, for the sixth year in a row.

The entrepreneurial projects’ products displayed included traditional clothing, perfumes and incense, Arabic hospitality tools, natural honey products, traditional food and beverages from the Qatari cuisine, gifts and accessories, pottery, paintings, spices, promotional materials, printing on clothing, herbs and natural flowers, and many others.

“This special event played an important role in introducing the public, to our efforts exerted in the field of sustainable social development by providing all forms of support for small and medium-sized entrepreneurial projects, and paving the way for innovative entrepreneurs to launch their businesses towards success. The event is also the perfect occasion to inform them of the projects’ workings, get them in touch with the projects’ entrepreneurs and preview discover their products in real life, all the way to encouraging community members and its institutions to participate in supporting such projects, so that we all become shareholders in achieving the Qatar National Vision 2030,” said Mariam bint Abdullatif Al Mannai, Director of the Community Services Department, and the Director in charge of running NAMA’s affairs.

Participation in major events as the tennis tournament, is considered the perfect way to enhance the level of awareness of entrepreneurship in the Qatari society, which in turn is one of the key channels towards achieving human capital development, leading to the development, prosperity and sustainability of the Qatari economy.

NAMA Center also participated in the 2017 Qatar ExxonMobil Open for men's tennis in order to shed more light on the status of entrepreneurial projects in Qatar.
