The Euromoney Qatar Conference will return to Doha in December, offering expert insights into Qatar’s financial development after a turbulent year, along with discussion of the wider economic landscape of the region.
Co-hosted with the Qatar Central Bank, the event, whose theme is “Digital innovation: the financial future,” will bring together senior bankers, business leaders and government ministers to examine the emerging development challenges facing institutions in the GCC, as well as the opportunities the current climate presents. One of the highlights of the event will be an on-stage interview with H E Ali Shareef Al Emadi, Minister of Finance, who will provide his perspective on Qatar’s economic strategy, and how it has adapted to respond to the changing geopolitical climate.
Qatar’s economy has been resilient in the face of challenges created by the on-going regional blockade that began in June 2017. In addition, Qatar’s flexible economic policies continue to prove attractive for foreign direct investment.
One of the key areas of discussion during the event will be whether the changing political dynamics will benefit Qatar in the longer-term, encouraging greater economic diversification and building new economic links and partnerships.

In addition, the conference on December 5 and 6, will include sessions on capital investment in expensive markets; cybersecurity and the role of the technology in regulation; and a thematic panel on fintech.
