DOHA: The 19th GCC environment meetings began yesterday at St. Regis Hotel and continue until October 28.
The event includes the 40th meeting of climate change group, the 18th meeting of awareness and media committee, the eight meeting of ozone work team, the fifth meeting of GCC network for land deterioration studies, the fourth meeting of environment portal team and the fifth meeting of the permanent wildlife committee.
On the sidelines of the conference, a two-day meeting of undersecretaries responsible for environmental affairs will be held on October 26 and 27.
The conference will conclude with the 19th meeting of the GCC ministers for environment affairs on October 28.
The 18th meeting of the awareness and media committee held yesterday as part of the conference and made a comprehensive assessment of the first work plan and activities conducted in this regard.
The 40th climate change group discussed national reports of the member countries in light of the UN framework convention on climate change.
