Doha: The University of Doha for Science and Technology (UDST) and Sasol Middle East and India (Sasol) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to establish a framework for collaboration across areas of mutual interest, with a focus on sustainability, decarbonisation, applied research, emerging technologies and student-led innovation.
The partnership brings together UDST’s expertise in applied academic, technical and vocational education with Sasol’s technological capabilities and industry experience. It aims to create opportunities for both organisations to collaborate on initiatives that support innovation, sustainability and the development of future-ready skills.
Under the agreement, UDST and Sasol will collaborate on joint applied research initiatives focused on decarbonisation strategies and clean technology integration. Beyond research, the framework also allows both organisations to consider initiatives in talent development, which may include knowledge sharing and student engagements aimed at offering practical industry exposure.
Furthermore, the collaboration reflects a shared commitment to supporting the broader economic and environmental objectives of Qatar National Vision 2030 by encouraging local innovation and dialogue between academia and industry.
Commenting on the partnership, President of UDST, Dr. Salem Al Naeimi, said: “This MoU marks an important step in expanding the ways in which our students and researchers can engage with industry and contribute to addressing real-world challenges.
