DOHA: Leaders’ Forum Qatar (LFQ), a prominent community-based forum, celebrated Engineers’ Day at Maestro Hall, Skills Development Centre, Doha, bringing together senior professionals, young engineers, and members of the Indian community.

The programme was presided over by P N Babu Rajan, former President of ICC and ICBF and a founding member of Leaders’ Forum Qatar. Sameer Moosa compered the programme, while H P Singh Bhullar, founding member and former General Secretary of ICC, delivered the keynote address.

As part of the celebration, K S Prasad, a founding member of Leaders’ Forum Qatar and a Civil Engineering graduate of the 1979 batch of NIT Warangal, and Abhinav Manikandan, a young engineer in Qatar and an Electronics and Communication Engineering graduate of the 2017 batch of NIT Delhi, were honoured for their contributions.

Speakers highlighted K S Prasad’s contributions to the engineering profession and his involvement in social and cultural activities spanning more than four decades. They noted that recognising individual contributions and encouraging people to contribute positively are essential to building a strong and progressive society.

The speakers also drew a parallel between engineering and society, observing that just as engineering requires sound design, structure and collaboration, a strong society depends on shared values, collective responsibility and the contributions of its members. The presence of an experienced professional K S Prasad alongside a young engineer like Abhinav Manikandan was highlighted as a meaningful example of intergenerational collaboration.
