Doha, Qatar: The General Authority of Customs (GAC), in strategic coordination with the Civil Service and Government Development Bureau (CGB), officially launched a comprehensive public opinion survey to measure community satisfaction with customs services nationwide.

CGB noted yesterday on its social media handles that the initiative is being hosted on the digital ‘Sharek’ platform. The survey forms a central part of the government’s ongoing efforts to enhance public service delivery, improve institutional transparency, and align administrative performance with the needs of citizens, residents, and business stakeholders.

The primary objective of the survey is to gather detailed feedback on public perceptions and assess community awareness of the critical dual mandate of the General Authority of Customs, including safeguarding society through robust security controls and facilitating seamless international trade.

By collecting direct insights from the public, government leaders aim to identify key areas for operational refinement, streamline clearance procedures, and elevate overall customer service standards.

Customs operations serve as a vital economic engine and security shield for Qatar. Beyond regulatory enforcement at air, sea, and land borders, the Authority plays a pivotal role in maintaining supply chain resilience and encouraging foreign trade.

Officials emphasised that public feedback is essential to modernising these processes, ensuring that regulatory frameworks remain both secure and user-friendly.

The Civil Service and Government Development Bureau highlighted that citizen and resident engagement is crucial to the success of this initiative.

The ‘Sharek’ platform, designed as an interactive bridge between government entities and the public, provides a seamless digital avenue for participants to voice their opinions, report service experiences, and offer constructive suggestions for future development.

“Your participation directly contributes to improving the services provided,” stated the CGB in its public call to action, encouraging all members of the community and business sector to access the ‘Sharek’ platform and complete the short questionnaire

The findings from the survey will be analysed by joint teams from both the General Authority of Customs and the CGB to inform future service enhancements, digital transformations, and policy updates across customs checkpoints nationwide.

The public opinion survey launched by GAC represents a significant step toward fostering a more responsive and transparent customs system in Qatar.

By actively involving citizens, residents, and business stakeholders, the initiative not only underscores the government’s commitment to continuous improvement but also ensures that the evolving needs of the community are placed at the forefront of decision-making.
