MoI Undersecretary stresses ministry's keenness to develop its members' competence, capabilities

DOHA: Undersecretary of the Ministry of Interior and Commander of Lekhwiya Force HE Major General Abdulaziz bin Faisal Al Thani stressed the ministry's keenness to build the capabilities of its members in various security knowledge and skills and strengthen the security system with the best-advanced systems to achieve the best rates of security performance and the highest level of security and peace.

In a press statement - on the occasion of celebrating the graduation ceremony of the 7th qualifying course for officer candidates graduated from civil universities held on Thursday in the Police Training Institute - he said that the Ministry of Interior spares no effort in raising the efficiency of its members to deal with all events and activities hosted by the state, including the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022.

He added that the ministry works to develop and raise the level of necessary knowledge and skills for its human cadres, to perform tasks with the highest level of accuracy and proficiency.

He pointed out that the Ministry of Interior and through all its strategies over the past years considered the human element as the basis of development and growth of all its security and service sectors. He said that the establishment of the Police College and the interest in developing it year after another is a true interpretation of investing in human capital.

He went on saying that today we celebrate the graduation of the 7th qualifying course for officer candidates graduated from civil universities who were selected according to the requirements of an approved plan that meets the diverse needs of the ministry from various disciplines.

He pointed out that the graduates received an academic education that included a number of subjects such as law, police science and the legal assessment curriculum that was prepared with the participation of the Public Prosecution and the Supreme Judiciary Council, which includes the legal part represented in the Qatari procedural law and good dealing with the public, in addition to professional field training that ensures their adaptation to security work requirements that require a high level of commitment and discipline.

HE Undersecretary of the Ministry of Interior wished the graduates success in performing the tasks that will be entrusted to them, and to contribute with dedication to the completion of the success achieved by the ministry during the past years, which was directly reflected in the security and safety indicators in the State of Qatar.

For his part, HE Director of Public Security Staff Major General Saad bin Jassim Al Khulaifi stressed that the Police College, since its establishment, has demonstrated sound vision in establishing a distinguished academic security edifice. He said that the Police College succeeded in graduating hundreds of distinguished offices armed with science, knowledge, and required military and physical training.

HE Staff Major General Al Khulaifi pointed out that the Police College was able to rehabilitate many graduated of civil universities who joined it over the course of seven years to join their colleagues in the Ministry of Interior and other military authorities to serve our country. He praised the level of the Police College graduates and their ability to engage in security work, accompanied by their fellow officers in various departments of the ministry.

He stressed that Misnistry of Interior is keen to achieve the best rates of outstanding security performance and combat crime in all its forms, which made Qatar the first in the Middle East and North Africa in terms of security and safety in the Global Peace Index for several consecutive years. 

For his part, HE Advisor to the Minister of Interior and Vice President of the Supreme Council of the Police College Major-General Dr. Abdullah Yousef Al Mal said that the college has succeeded in in graduating officers armed with military knowledge and skills, and has become an example to be followed.

He pointed out that the college, over the past few years, has contributed effectively and strongly to providing the Ministry of Interior with a group of distinguished officers who have been involved in the field and contributed with their colleagues to maintaining security and stability, which confirms the integrity of the academic and training plans that are going on.

His Excellency pointed out that the members of the seventh inevitable qualification course for graduates of civil universities received advanced and diversified training programs in the military and sports fields, as well as the distinguished scientific approach that qualifies them to take charge of work at the Ministry of Interior.

For his part, Police College Director-General Brigadier Abdul Rahman Majid Al Sulaiti, since it was assigned to hold the inevitable qualification courses for graduates of civil universities in 2016, the college has adopted the best theoretical and applied methods of qualification and training, under the supervision of a team of specialists in military and sports training, and a distinguished elite of faculty members.

The number of officers enrolled in the seventh inevitable qualification course for graduates of civil universities, which is celebrated today, is (45) officers distributed among departments in the Ministry of Interior and the Lekhwiya Force.
