Ankara: A magnitude 5.0 earthquake struck several provinces in southeastern Turkiye on Saturday, with no casualties or damage reported.
Turkiye's Disaster and Emergency Management Authority (AFAD) said in a statement that the earthquake was centered in the Battalgazi district of Malatya province and that no adverse developments had been reported following the quake.
Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change Minister Murat Kurum said authorities had not detected any adverse developments but continued to assess all reports.
Turkey lies on several active fault lines and is frequently struck by earthquakes.
