New York: Minister of Public Health and Chair of the Executive Board of the World Health Organization (WHO) HE Dr. Hanan Mohammed Al Kuwari met on Monday with the Under-Secretary-General of the United Nations for Economic and Social Affairs HE Li Junhua, on the sidelines of the High-Level Political Forum on Sustainable Development on the High-Level Declaration on Accelerating Recovery from COVID-19 and the full implementation of the 2023 Agenda for Sustainable Development at all levels, held under the auspices of the UN Economic and Social Council in New York.
During the meeting, they discussed enhancing cooperation between the State of Qatar and the United Nations.
They also reviewed the highlights of the forum, including the high-level meetings on health scheduled for next September on the sidelines of the 2023 Sustainable Development Goals Summit.
During the meeting, the United Nations Under-Secretary-General for Economic and Social Affairs praised the effective role of the State of Qatar in the United Nations and its associated organizations, especially the World Health Organization (WHO).
The meeting was attended by the Permanent Representative of the State of Qatar to the United Nations HE Sheikha Alya bint Ahmed bin Saif Al-Thani.
