Doha, Qatar: The Ministry of Education and Higher Education (MoEHE) has announced the results of the first cohort of the National Initiative for the Qatarization of Trainers in Educational and Training Service Centers, with 90 Qatari trainers successfully qualifying after completing the assessment process.
The results were announced at an event held at the Ministry’s headquarters yesterday. MoEHE Assistant Undersecretary for Private Education Affairs Omar Abdul Aziz Al-Naama with other officials attended the event.
Speaking at the event, Director of Educational Service Centers Department Iman Ali Al Nuaimi said that 121 trainers applied to join the first cohort of the initiative. She explained that interviews were conducted with 100 Qatari trainers, resulting in the successful qualification of 90 trainers, while 10 applicants did not pass the interviews. The successful candidates were classified into three professional levels: 37 expert trainers, 21 advanced trainers, and 32 certified trainers.
Al Nuaimi noted that those who did not qualify in the first round would be allowed to better prepare and retake the interview process as part of the initiative’s second cohort.
Discussing the professional specializations represented among participants, Al Nuaimi said the initiative focused primarily on areas that address labour market needs, including strategic planning, business administration, leadership development and effective communication skills.
She also noted growing expertise among some trainers in the field of artificial intelligence. “There is a clear distinction among several trainers in artificial intelligence,” she said. “However, we still need a larger number of specialists in this field to meet future demand.”
Looking ahead, Al Nuaimi revealed that registration remains open for the second cohort and that approximately 189 applicants have already registered. She said the ministry plans to begin the screening and evaluation process in August, with interviews expected to take place between late August and early September.
On the issue of recruitment targets, Al Nuaimi stressed that the initiative is focused on quality rather than numbers. “The initiative is based on skills, expertise and professional experience."
“We want to attract all qualified Qatari trainers and, in the next phase, the sons and daughters of Qatari women, so they can support the training process in educational service centres in the private sector and contribute more broadly to training activities across the country.”
She explained that the initiative is a national project driven by a desire to serve the country rather than by financial incentives. “Everyone has demonstrated a strong sense of belonging and a willingness to support the state and the ministry through this initiative,” she said.
Al Nuaimi clarified that participation in the programme does not constitute permanent employment and that educational centres are not required to retain trainers indefinitely. “These trainers work on a freelance basis and have the freedom to move between centres. The more they prove themselves and achieve positive training outcomes, the more likely centres are to continue working with them,” she said.
Highlighting the benefits available to successful participants, Al Nuaimi said the most important advantage is official recognition under the umbrella of the Ministry of Education and Higher Education. “The trainers will be officially accredited and recognised by the state,” she said. “We have already sent the list of approved trainers to all the government entities and institutions we cooperate with. This provides significant visibility, promotion and opportunities for collaboration, which is a major benefit for the trainers.”
She explained that educational service centres are private institutions distributed across various areas of Qatar and offer a broad range of educational and training programmes. These include administrative training, foreign language instruction, academic tutoring, educational training, computer education, programmes for persons with disabilities, visual arts education, and mental mathematics training.
