DOHA: Qatar Airways (QA) was honoured with three of top aviation accolades at annual Skytrax World Airline Awards, winning ‘Airline of the Year’ for a third time, a major accomplishment for an airline to reach multiple times.
The highest ranking in the awards category, Airline of the Year is a testament to the commitment and dedication to service excellence and a high-quality travel experience for all QA passengers. It is also a reflection of the five-star service QA is renowned for.
The award comes at a time when the airline has experienced remarkable growth, given major enhancements to its fleet in the last 10 months, with the entry into service of Airbus A380 and Airbus A350 as the global launch customer.
QA also collected Best Business Class Airline Seat and Best Airline in the Middle East – which it has won for the eighth time.
The awards at Musée de l’Air et de l’ Espace, Paris Air Show, are known as Passengers Choice Awards, with millions of travellers, from 160 countries participating in passenger satisfaction surveys to decide winners.
Akbar Al Baker, CEO, Qatar Airways Group, said,“ I am honoured to lead an airline that has paved such an accomplished path to excellence and innovation, demonstrating the team’s pride in their work and experience provided to each of our passengers.
“Becoming an award-winning airline takes dedication and passion and retaining such a ranking takes commitment for which I thank each and every team member at QA. Our passengers are at the heart of everything we do and we are proud to be recognised by them and to receive these three awards,” he said.
“The accolades reflect our passengers’ satisfaction; they choose to fly with a five-star airline and today they have chosen QA as the World’s Best Airline for the third time. QA strives to offer the best travel experience for its guests across our global network of 147 destinations, with a commitment to provide quality services to each and every of one our passengers,” he added.
