PM orders completion of health projects on time

Prime Minister and Interior Minister H E Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa Al Thani with other officials at one of the health centres yesterday.

Doha: Prime Minister and Interior Minister H E Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa Al Thani yesterday visited primary health centres in Al Shamal, Al Kaaban and Al Ghuwariyah and was brief on their operations and plans.
At Al Shamal Health Centre, the Premier had a firsthand look at facilities such as clinics, administrative offices, labs, scans and the pharmacy. 
The centres is one of the oldest,  having been established in 1972 and has 7,000 registered people. Between 70 and 100 patients visit it everyday.
At Al Kaaban Health Centre, the Premier  listened to a brief on expansion plans in new centres, including a 24-hour emergency building for the elderly.
He was also briefed on the centre’s facilities, including dentistry clinics, non-communicable disease clinics, labs, scan rooms, Medical Commission and the pharmacy.
A presentation was also held for him on plans to develop the centre, including improvement of the building’s interior design and expansion of health services.
After that, the Premier visited the new building of Al Ghuwariyah Health Centre and saw facilities and services that will be available when the centre opens.
He listened to the operation plan, which will feature a new electronic system and procedures for local community participation in specifying working hours of the centre through a survey carried out by PHCC.
The Prime Minister ordered the entities carrying out health projects to finish them on schedule to meet healthcare needs of society.
