Emir exchanges Ramadan greetings with leaders

Doha: Emir H H Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani yesterday exchanged greetings over the telephone with the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud of Kingdom of Saudi Arabia on the advent of Ramadan. He also exchanged greetings with other leaders of Arab and Islamic countries.
Deputy Emir H H Sheikh Abdullah bin Hamad Al Thani also exchanged greetings with leaders. Prime Minister and Interior Minister H E Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa Al Thani exchanged cables of congratulations with prime ministers of Arab and Islamic states.

Emir to receive well-wishers 


Doha: Emir H H Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani will receive sheikhs, ministers, Advisory Council chairman,  undersecretaries, council members and citizens at Al Wajba Palace on the first and second evenings of Ramadan after Taraweeh prayers, the Emiri Diwan said.
PM appoints Govt Communication Office director
Doha: Prime Minister and Interior Minister H E Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa Al Thani yesterday issued Decision No. 13 of 2015 appointing Sheikh Saif bin Ahmed bin Saif Al Thani as Director of Government Communication Office.

QR1.3bn property deals last week


Doha: Real estate sale contracts registered with the Land Registry Department of the Ministry of Justice from June 7 to 11 reached QR1.3bn. According to the weekly bulletin issued by the department, sales included lands, multi-use housing units and buildings in Doha, Umm Salal, Al Khor, Al Dhakira, Al Zain, Al Rayyan and Al Wakra municipalities.

Ministry warns against begging 


DOHA: The Ministry of Interior has warned people of begging menace during Ramadan and said it should be alerted if anyone is seen seeking alms. On its Twitter account, the ministry urged people to call 2347444 or 33618627 if someone approaches them for alms or if they see anyone begging.
Begging is illegal in Qatar but during the fasting month when people do a lot of charity, many men, women and children come here on a visit from other countries and seek alms.
