Doha, Qatar: A delegation from the Qatar International Center for Conciliation and Arbitration (QICCA), headed by Dr. Sheikh Thani bin Ali Al Thani, Vice Chairman, attended the closing ceremony of the 'Accelerated Track Qualifying for Membership' programme, organised by the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (CIArb) Qatar Branch, as part of efforts to enhance cooperation and develop expertise in arbitration and alternative dispute resolution.
This participation reflects the ongoing cooperation between the Center and the Institute, following the signing of a cooperation agreement on the sidelines of the QICCA annual conference in November 2024, aimed at promoting arbitration and alternative dispute resolution in Qatar and enhancing legal and professional awareness in this vital field.
Dr. Sheikh Thani bin Ali Al Thani emphasised Qatar’s strong focus on developing alternative dispute resolution (ADR) mechanisms, noting that this commitment is reflected in modern legislation, including the Arbitration Law and the Mediation Law, which enhance the country’s legal and investment environment.
He also urged trainees to continue their professional development and keep pace with global advancements in arbitration, stressing the importance of preparing qualified national talent aligned with international best practices.
He further praised the role of specialised training programs in strengthening legal expertise and reinforcing Qatar’s position as a leading regional hub for arbitration and dispute resolution.
