Doha: The 27th meeting of the GSO Technical Committee for Oil and Gas wrapped up its activities.
Organised by the Qatar General Organization for standardization, the three-day meeting was held in cooperation with the GCC Standardization Organization.
Chairman of the committee Muhammad Abdullah Al Masifri outlined that the meeting discussed a number of vital topics including the standards for the oil and gas Industry of the GCC states, affirming that the meeting was a valuable opportunity to discuss the challenges facing oil and gas industries, in addition to exploring innovative solutions to fulfill the increasing demand for energy.
The GCC states are one of the largest producers and exporters of oil and gas in the world, Al Masifri said, adding that standards and specifications that are constantly developed by the GSO would help enhance safety and efficiency in oil and gas industry and further determine the best practices and novel technologies required by the current and future challenges for these critical industries.
The meeting was an opportunity to cooperate and share expertise between the professionals in this field to work together in order to improve standardization and specifications applied in oil and gas sectors, as well as hold effective and fruitful discussions in pursuit of making the meeting successful and effective, he outlined.
