Tunis: Qatar Television and Radio has won three awards at the 16th edition of the Arab Festival for Radio and Television which ended last night in Hammamet city in Tunisia.
Qatar Television won the first prize in the children’s programmes competition for Schools, and the second prize in the documentaries on the Palestinian Cause competition for Borderless World.
Qatar Radio won the first prize in the Palestinian Cause Programmes competition for Threat and Judaisation.
The festival was organised by Arab Satellite Communications Organisation in cooperation with Arab States Broadcasting Union and Tunisian radio and television corporations.
More than 600 media figures from all the Arab world attended the event which featured 150 TV and 88 radio programmes in competitions, a market for TV and radio programmes, an exhibition of modern technological equipment and workshops.
Doha: A five-day workshop on behavioural skills for investigators started at Capital Security Department yesterday.
Speaking on ‘Ethical Model of a Policeman’, Brigadier Khalifa Abdullah Al Noaimi, Director- General, General Directorate of Criminal Investigations, said, “A police officer should be responsible in his dealings with the public. He should know that he is not only representing himself as an officer, but also the Ministry of Interior and is entrusted to protect security, safety and dignity of every member of society.”
Brig. Salim Saqr Al Meraikhi, Director, Legal Affairs Department, spoke on the qualities that must be shown by the investigating officer. He said the investigator being the first to receive a criminal case, has the primary role in ascertaining facts and circumstances and therefore holds a leading role in gathering evidence.
Lt. Colonel Nasser Misfir Al Qahtani, Head, Al Sadd Police Division, said the workshop is organised by the division and the Training Section of Human Resource Department. QNA
