Brussels--The EU agreed Monday to set up a naval operation to tackle people smugglers responsible for a flood of migrants crossing the Mediterranean to Europe, EU foreign affairs head Federica Mogherini said.
"Decision just taken to establish the EU naval operation to disrupt the business model of smugglers and traffickers networks," Mogherini said on Twitter after an EU foreign and defence ministers' meeting.
