Doha: 2015 Baku Games gold medallist Erik Varga of Slovakia won the men’s Trap event of the Qatar Open Shotgun championship while Jiri Liptak of Czech Republic clinched the silver.
Italian Mauro De Filippis took the third place at the $133,000 event staged by Qatar Shooting and Archery Association at Losail Shooting Range.
In the women’s section, Alessandra Perilli of Saint Marino won the top prize of $7,000, while Lebanese shooter Ray Bassil finished second.
The competition ends on February 22, while Double Trap starts today and the final is on Monday.
