Will build economy independent of oil: Sheikh Mohammed

Doha:  Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the United Arab Emirates, and ruler of Dubai recently tweeted about creating a sustainable and balanced economy.
“Celebrating the last barrel of oil, as my brother Mohammed bin Zayed has said, we will build a sustainable economy for future generations,” Sheikh Mohammed tweeted.


He further stated that the UAE economy consists of non-oil GDP of 70% and they will build an economy that is independent of oil and market fluctuations alike.
According to the message on twitter they were planning a “ministerial retreat together with government officials and economists to discuss moving the UAE economy beyond oil.”
